1.Foreign goods were boycotted,liquor shops were picketed and foreign cloth burnt in huge Bonfire.
2.The import of foreign cloth halved between 1921 and 1922, its value dropping from Rs102 crore to Rs57 crore.
3.In many places merchants and traders refused to trade.
4.As the boycott movement spread and people began discarding in imported clothes and wearing only Indian ones.production of Indian textiles mills and handlooms went up.

the effects were, this movement promoted the usage of khadi and made a great financial loss for British textile industries .
But it was called of in 1920 because of fire in chauri chaura
