Hi !!
ecord surge in Omicron cases around the globe has led to severe disruptions, hurting economic growth just when the world was slowly seeing some economic revival.

World Health Organisation (WHO) chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus recently warned that cases are surging across the globe at a rapid pace, adding that the new variant along with Delta will lead to a “tsunami” of cases.

Counties in Europe and the United States are witnessing a record surge in single-day cases and experts believe it is only a matter of time before Omicron replaces Delta as the dominant global variant.

Even in India, there has been a sharp rise in Omicron cases and many states have already announced fresh curbs to contain the new variant, even though it is believed to be milder than the Delta variant that caused havoc during the second wave.

It may be noted that there has been a sharp rise in the number of daily cases reported in India over the past few days. This is likely to increase as several experts have stated that community transmission has already started.
