\textbf{ Pancreactomy :} It is a biological term that refers to the removing of pancreas from the body.

\textbf{Effects of Pancreactomy are:}

◾ 70% of starch remain undigested.

◾ No severe effect on the digestion of protein because in the absence of Trypsin pepsin of gastric juice can maintain the digestion of protein.

◾ Most severe effect occurs on the digestion of fats because pancreatic lipase ( Steapsin ) is strongest Lipolytic enzyme as a result person passes bulky stool, rich in fats. This condition is known as Steatorhoea ( fat indigestion )

◾ Person will suffer from Diabetes Mellitus ( Sweet Urine ).

◾ Blood sugar level of that person remain unbalanced as both blood sugar level maintaining hormones, insulin and glucagon will not be secreted.

PANCREATOMY:

a pancreatectomy is the surgical removal of all or part of the pancreas.

It can be used to treat some cases of pancreatic cancer.

There are two types of pancreatectomy:

Distal Pancreatectomy:The body and tail of the pancreas are removed. Often, the spleen is also removed.

Total Pancreatectomy: Removal of the whole pancreas, part of the stomach and small intestine, common bile duct, gallbladder, spleen and lymph nodes.

EFFECT OF PANCREATOMY:

Problems with digesting your food and diabetes.

As some types of surgery will involve removing part of your pancreas, you may have problems digesting food, which can cause symptoms such as weight loss and bowel problems.

Removing part of your pancreas can also cause diabetes.
