After the entry of HYV seeds, chemical fertilizers and pesticides the face of agriculture has thoroughly changed. These changes are known as green revolution. Green revolution is a process where HYV seeds, chemical fertilizers, pesticides and better irrigation are used. As the irrigation facility is the most important factor on which the success of green revolution mostly depended. After the construction of Indira Gandhi Canal, irrigation facilities have been improved very much in Rajasthan. This has really transformed the North Western districts of SriGanganagar, Hanumangarh, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Nagour etc. into rich and lush fields.In Rajasthan, due to green revolution agriculture output has increased, income has increased and at the same time the standard of living of the people has also getting better.
