Its effectiveness are:

School is the second place after home where a child spends most of the time, getting education, discipline, etc. Teachers can tell parents about how they are making progress in terms of education, discipline, behaviour so that parents can get an idea about how to guide them in future.

Ineffectiveness are:

Nowadays, parents put so much pressure and expectation on their child from an early age ,that when their results are not up to the mark they get scolded , beaten by them.

Teachers complaining about certain things might also trigger and provoke the parents leaving both the child and parents frustrated.
