Effects of Connecting DC Motor Across an AC Supply
What will happen, if a DC motor connected across an AC supply?

The motor does not run, as it does not get enough voltage at the input.
 
 But as voltage reverses in AC, perhaps that may damage the motor in case the voltage rating is violated.
