▶EFFECTS OF FLOODS:

1️⃣ During floods, roads, bridges, farms, homes and vehicles are destroyed.

2️⃣ People become homeless and thus, government has to re-build their houses and give the people their old way of life. This costs a large amount.

3️⃣ Additionally, flooding causes kills animals, and others insects are introduced to affected areas, distorting the natural balance of the ecosystem.

4️⃣ Water supply and electricity are disrupted and people struggle and suffer as a result.

5️⃣ Many people migrate from the flood affected area.

6️⃣ Destroys crops and fields, which leads to the lack of food and poverty of farmers.

7️⃣ Chemicals and other hazardous substances end up in the water and eventually contaminate the water bodies that floods end up in.

8️⃣ Flooding also brings a lot of diseases and infections including military fever, pneumonic plague, dermatopathia and dysentery.

9️⃣ Sometimes insects and snakes make their ways to the area and cause a lot of havoc.
