An illegal agreement is not enforceable by law.

Explanation:

  1. Illegal agreements are agreements that do not have the essentials of any agreement.
  2. Either the subject matter of such agreements is not allowed by the law or the consideration is not there.
  3. Agreements entered by legal offenders, miners, bankrupts, are also considered illegal. These agreements cannot be enforced in any court of law.
  4. Even if the consideration is paid for, one party cannot be forced to do its duty because the subject matter of the contract is illegal.
