effects of pollution on Taj Mahal and Ganga Yamuna

There have been many attempts to clean the polluted water of the Ganga and stop the nearby residents to use it as a dump for their waste but these attempts have always failed.
As for the Taj Mahal, there have been reports talking of air pollution causing irreparable damage to the 17th century monument.
