Biodegradable materials are those which can be degraded by natural processes into some usable forms. Example- Human and animal excreta, Plant products like rubber, paper, wood, leaves, cotton, and wool, Dead remains of living organisms, Kitchen waste, Agricultural waste.

Some examples of non-biodegradable waste which can be again used at homes are aluminum cans, bottles, plastic products, metal scraps, glasses, grocery bags or plastic bags and Styrofoam. These non-biodegradable items have to be stored properly post usage or they can be recycled.
