Example of oxygenic photoautotrophs generally includes green plants and photosynthetic bacteria.

Plants like:-

  • Higher plants: trees, corn plant etc.
  • Algae

But the first oxygenic photoautotroph bacteria was cyanobacteria.

• Oxygenic photoautotrophs are those organisms that can make their own food in the form of glucose by carbondioxide and sunlight.

Types of photoautotrophs:-

  1. Green plants- trees and shrubs
  2. Algae- green algae
  3. Bacteria- cyanobacteria

• Phototrophs essentially make their food, which is how they can live and breed.

• Autophototrophs are also important for heterotroph organisms, as they depend on other organisms(autophototrophs) to get food.

• Heterotrophs eat autophototrophs.

For example, cattle eat grass, and then humans eat those cattle.
