Also, given that - repetition is allowed.  

therefore, total number of words = 8×8×8×8 = $8^{4}$ = 4096

Number of words without repetition=8×7×6×5=1680

therefore, Number of word with at least one letter repeated = 4096 - 1680 = 2416.
