Eight years ago, Seema's age was equal to the sum of the present ages of her son and daughter. Five years hence, the
respective ratio between the ages of her daughter and her son will be 7:6. If Seema's husband is 7 years elder to her and his

Step-by-step explanation:

age 8 years ago

seemas age =x

sum of son and daughter=x ( both are equal)

after 5 years

seemas age = x+5

her son and daughter = x+5

ratio of her son and daughter =7:6

her husband age to her =x+7

hus age to his son = 3(x+5/7)

Answer:

Present age of Seema is 50 years.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let five year hence age of Seema's daughter be 7x years and age of son be 6x years.

So present age of her daughter is (7x-5) years.

and present age of her son is (6x-5) years.

Now given, Eight years ago, Seema's age was equal to the sum of the present ages of her son and daughter.

Eight years ago,Age of daughter was (7x-5-8) =(7x-13) years.

and age of son was (6x-5-8)=(6x-13) years.

So,age of Seema before eight years=

(7x - 5) + (6x - 5) =( 13x - 10)

years.Therefore present age of Seema is

(13x - 10) + 8 = (13x - 2)years.

Now age of Seema's husband 7 years more than Seema.

So present age of her husband is

(13x - 2) + 7 =( 13x  +  5)years.

Again it is given that present age of Seema's husband is 3 times of his son's age.

So according to question,

13x   + 5 = 3 \times (6x   -  5)

13x  + 5 = 18x - 15

18x - 13x =  15 + 5

5x = 20

x =  4

So present age of Seema is  (13x - 2) = 13 \times 4 - 2 = 50 years.
