Given :- If a boy fells down in a 100 ft deep well and he climbs daily 10 ft and when he sleeps he fells down 6 feet down. How many days does it take to get out of well ?

Answer :-

→ Total depth of well = 100 ft .

now,

→ He climbs in day = 10 ft

→ He fells down at night (when sleep) = (-6) ft .

so,

→ Total distance he climbs per day = 10 - 6 = 4 feet .

then,

→ Total distance he climbs in 23 days = 23 * 4 = 92 feet .

now, on 24th day ,

→ Distance he still has to climb = 100 - 92 = 8 feet .

therefore,

→ Time taken by boy in day to climb left distance = 8/10 = (4/5)th day.

Hence,

→ Total time taken by boy to get out of wall = 23 days + (4/5) day = 23(4/5) days ≈ 24 days (Ans.)

[note :- Exact number of days will be 23(4/5) and approx number of days will be 24 . ]
