Correct Question :

A retailer mark price of goods 150% more than original and sells at 40% Discount. Find the Ratio between Selling Price, Cost Price and Marked Price.

AnswEr :

Let's Assume the Cost Price be Rs. 100

Selling Price of Good will be :

⇒ SP = CP × (100 + Profit%) / 100

⇒ SP = 100 × (100 + 150) / 100

⇒ SP = (100 + 150)

SP = Rs. 150

Marked Price of Good will be :

⇒ MP = CP × (100 - Discount%) / 100

⇒ MP = 100 × (100 - 40) / 100

⇒ MP = (100 - 40)

MP = Rs. 60

Ratio of SP, CP and MP

⇒ SP : CP : MP

  • Plugging the Values

⇒ Rs. 150 : Rs. 100 : Rs. 60

  • Dividing Each term by Rs. 10

15 : 10 : 6

Ratio of SP, CP and MP is 15 : 10 : 6.
