Ekaaluminium and gallium

In 1871 Mendeleev predicted the existence of a yet-undiscovered element he named eka-aluminium (because of its proximity to aluminium in the periodic table). The table below compares the qualities of the element predicted by Mendeleev with actual characteristics of Gallium (discovered in 1875).

during that time gallium was not discovered. but mendeleef stated the propeties of gallium before and named it ekaaluminium. but afterwards when the element was discovered the properties of gallium and mendeleef's eka aluminium were found to be same. hence gallium occupied the position of eka aluminium in themodern periodic table,
