Solution:

The diameter of the wheel of the bus, d = 0.7 m

So, the radius of the wheel of the bus, r = $\frac{d}{2} = \frac{0.7}{2} = 0.35\:m$

We know that,

The distance covered by the wheel in 1 rotation = Circumference of the wheel

∴ The distance covered by the wheel in 1 rotation = 2πr

⇒ The distance covered by the wheel in 1 rotation = $2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times 0.35 = 2.2\:m$

Therefore,

If in 1 rotation, the distance covered is 2.2 m

Then,

In 5000 rotations, the distance covered will be,

= 5000 × 2.2

= 11000 m

∵ 1 km = 1000 m

= 11 km ← option (4)

Thus, the distance covered by the wheel of the minibus in 5000 rotation is → 11 km.
