Answer:

You are already familiar with the Millennium Learning System-Level Two concept book series, which is based on the principle of activity-centred learning. One essential component of this series is the 'Follow-up Journal'. This journal is used by the learners to record their experiences and to provide feedback on the activities: given in the concept books. It also serves as an excellent tool for the facilitator to judge the knowledge, understanding and skills developed by the learner through the content.

The Follow-up Journal' is linked to the ' What you already know', 'What you need to do' and Time to work out' sections of the corresponding concept book for documentation of the exercises and activities given in these sections. Ample space has been provided in the Follow-up Journal for answering the questions, documenting the observations and organising the outputs of the activities.

Each chapter in the 'Follow-up Journal' has questions based on the following three levels:

1. Prerequisite Level: The questions at this level are based on the concepts taught in the earlier chapters or classes and are placed in 'What you already know' section of the concept book, to assess whether the learner is ready to receive new knowledge.

2. Understanding and Application Level: The activities at this level facilitate experiential learning and are placed in ' What you need to do' section, to assess the learner's ability to apply the acquired knowledge effectively.

3. Consolidation Level: The exercises at this level are listed at the end of the chapter and are placed in "Time to work out' section, to assess how well the learner has grasped the content and is able to retain the learning.

Our intent behind the Follow-up Journal is to aid systematic documentation of procedures by guiding the learner not only to organise the information skillfully but also to give a presentable form to his/her expressions. We hope to instil a sense of discipline and order that will help the learner take control of his/her actions
