in human male sperm,the acrosome is a vesicle present in at its tip. it contain soluble protiolytic enzymes.when the sperm come in contact of ovum there is acrosome reaction. this reaction is enable the sperm to break through through the protective coat of egg that is zona pellucida.

hence the sperm enters ovum  and its plasma membrane fuses with that of ovum followed by nuclear fusion and resulting in fertilization.
