Thales's theorem :

If a straight line is drawn parallel to a side of a triangle, then it divides the other two sides proportionately.

Its also called BPT : Basic proportionality theorem.

त्रिभुज ABC में, DE ǁ BC

=> AD/DB   = AE/EC

=> 4/8  = 8/EC

=> 1/2 = 8/EC

=> EC = 8 x 2

=> EC = 16 cm
