Here, sum = Rs. x

rate of interest = 12% p.a.

Then, interest = Rs. 12x/100

Case 2. Rs. (35000 - x) lent at 14% p.a.

Here, sum = Rs. (35000 - x)

time = 1 year

rate of interest = 14% p.a.

Then, interest = Rs. 14 * (35000 - x)/100

So total interest from two amounts is

= Rs. 12x/100 + 14 * (35000 - x)/100

= Rs. (12x + 490000 - 14x)/100

= Rs. (490000 - 2x)/100

By the given condition,

(490000 - 2x)/100 = 4460

or, 490000 - 2x = 446000

or, 2x = 490000 - 446000

or, 2x = 44000

or, x = 22000

Then, 35000 - x = 35000 - 22000 = 13000
