One tree equals one life

We all know that trees provide us with the life-saving gas, oxygen which is essential for our survival. No other living organism on earth is capable of doing that. Green plants are also the source of food(starch) which they prepare by photosynthesis. The entire animal kingdom is dependent on this food directly or indirectly. Apart of these two main functions, there are several other functions of plants. They prevent the soil from getting eroded, provides shade on a hot, sunny afternoon, provide shelter to arboreal animals, gives us fruits, flowers, etc. So by planting a single tree is equivalent to giving life to someone. So it is rightly said that one tree equals one life.
