Adaption in plants found in desert is that there leaves are not there, instead of leaves spines are present. Their leaves are modified as spines to help the plant to survive. As we know that evaporation in plants take place through their leaves, in deserts there is very less rainfall and very water to survive, so to present evaportaion their are no leaves.Example of such a plant is cactus. Cactus have spines and it stores water in its stem. Its stem is green, fleshy and photosynthetic. The inside of the stem is either spongy or hollow . A thick, waxy coating keeps the water inside the cactus from evaporating.
