Hawk Roosting is a best animal poem of Ted Hughes.

By this poem Hughes wanted to show us the rudeness of the world. Where hawk is known as most rude bird among the all birds, because hawk kills every birds for food. Hawk is the main part of the food chain. Hawk eats every birds and creatures for eating. Hawk does this for his need like human does mistake. There is no difference between human and hawk. Human also rude many times like Hawk. If they will be good with birds then birds will be good with them.

Answer:

The Hawk, a predator bird, is the central character here.  The bird is perched on a branch. The poem is narrated from the bird's point of view. The hawk's opinion of the world is highly self-involved.

The bird observes itself as the most commanding force being in existence where he masters the life and death. The monologue of the bird broods the amoral consciousness in a strong way.
