Nicola and jacopo do many things such as hawked newsapapers, sold fruits, guide the tourists to juliet's tomb, shined shoes ,conduct tourists round the town , and ran errands.

here many thing means that the brothers nicola and jacopo do many thing to earn some money from which her sister can get treatment...
they sold wild strawberries , worked as shoe polishers, hawked newspaper, worked as tourist guide, etc
these all things they did for their sister
