Society and development of science have always moved forward in hand in hand. The development of science has more or less always been dependent on societal issues. Science has always been the factor to create a better society. In a way, science has always had a hand in shaping up the society. Depending on the development of the science, the mindsets, attitudes and a human’s way thinking were entirely dependent.

For example, during the early 20th century when the world was entirely focused in war, the scientists were continuously funded to produce new war weapons and that is how the mysteries of nuclear power were unearthed. That was how science moved forward in that direction, depending on what society needed.

Another example is cancer. In a continuous search for the cure for cancer, chemotherapy was introduced. The idea came from the time when mustard gas was used during warfare, and it was known to suppress the blood production. Chemotherapy is considered as one of the major leaps in the history of medical science.

Various kinds of scientific discoveries come together to make the society (world) a better place. Today, we have thousands of programmers working relentlessly to bring us, that is, our families and relations together through social networking sites, video calls, messaging apps. Science has developed to a level where humans are able to create and encourage the idea of artificial intelligence. Science has always been the solution to make the life of living beings easier and better. Although, technology usually affects society more directly than science because it solves practical problems and serves human needs (and may create new problems and needs).

In contrast, science affects society mainly by stimulating and satisfying people's curiosity and occasionally by enlarging or challenging their views of what the world is like. The effect of science on society is neither beneficial nor detrimental. It is always dependent on how the society wants to make use of it.

Hope this will do! All the best!
