Travel narratives are often records of the places, people, and occurrences of  a particular region that a traveler visits. An individual work is often known as a  travelogue. Travel writing is a conscious act of the traveler/writer to render his/her  experiences into documents for future reference to the readers.

Examples:

1. Ferdinand Magellan was a Portuguese explorer who organised the Spanish expedition to the East Indies from 1519 to 1522, resulting in the first circumnavigation of the Earth, completed by Juan Sebastián Elcano.

2. Paul Theroux

A travelogue is a film, book written up from a travel diary, or illustrated talk describing the experiences of and places visited by traveller. American writer Paul Theroux has published many works of travel literature, the first success being The Great Railway Bazaar.
