Answer:

The Mughal (or Mogul) Empire ruled most of India and Pakistan in the 16th and 17th centuries.

It consolidated Islam in South Asia, and spread Muslim (and particularly Persian) arts and culture as well as the faith

Most Mughlal rulers during their reign had practiced Religious tolerance

Explanation:

  • The Mughal rulers like Shah Jehan, Babur, Humayun & Akbar practiced tolerance towards non-muslims & Shias they never persecuted other religions’ followers & even valued earned men’s "religious discussion". These rulers did not impose "the Sharia law" on the non-Muslims, or or force religion/its stipulations on the people. These Mughal rulers were also "unprejudiced" toward almost any of their Muslim sect"
  • Mughal king like Akbar believed that " No man must be interfered with concerning religion, and anyone must be permitted to convert to a religion that pleases him". He never condemned any religion and all his actions promoted harmony & tolerance. He never idid once oppress, or force Muslim conversion, neither did he persecute people for their different religious beliefs
  • Akbar abolished non-Muslim polling tax that was implemented as per the Sharia law and also abolished with other taxes, such as the Hindus pilgrimage tax levied by his predecessors. He had repealed other limitations such as limits on the construction of places of worship and restrictions on government participation.
  • The only exception was Aurangazeb, and reversed the religious tolerance that was set by his predecessors. Aurangazeb's only difference was and overturned his successors' religious tolerance. Everybody within the empire was still subject to Sharia law by the ruler, whether or not they were Muslims. Aurengzebe was against those that did not follow the Islamic Sunni religion. He was just as restrictive  & cruel on Shiites as he was with non-Muslims.
  • First of all, he reinstated the non-Muslim poll tax. In addition to Aurangzeb 's destruction of the Hindu temples, he started slavery of the Hindus. Aurangzeb then started construction of mosques on the sites of demolished Hindu temples.
  • The aims of Aurangzeb's religious zeal were not just the Hindus. Also targets were Shiite Muslims. Because Shiites are also Muslims, he couldn't terrorize them as many ways, but there were things he could still do to anguish their lives. Shiite Husain honor celebrations were restricte and he arrested Muslims who left Islam, tried and executed them.
