Elastic behaviour of solid refers to the tendency of the solids to regain its original shape and dimension, when the force of deformation acting on the solid is stopped.

Answer:

By a rigid body, we generally mean a hard solid object having a definite shape and size. In reality, solid bodies are not perfectly rigid. They can be stretched, compressed and band. When external forces applied, body may get it. When the deforming force is removed, some bodys tend to regain their original size and shape while others do not show such tendency.

This tendency of solids is known as elastic behaviour of solid.
