The focus on election in politics makes us believe that elections are all about cast but this is far from true...because:-

-No parliamentary constituency in India have a clear majority of a single caste .So the candidate or the party had to win the confidence of more than one caste or community in order to win the election.
-No party can win all the votes from the voters of a caste or community.
-Many political parties may put up candidates belonging to the same caste .So some voters will find many candidates from their caste while many voters will find no candidate from their caste.
-The ruling party, the sitting MP and MLA frequently loose election ,thjs would not have happened if all the caste or community were frozen in one political preference.

Answer:

The emphasis on caste in politics might occasionally give the impression that elections are solely about caste. This is untrue for the following reasons: i. There is no clear majority of a single caste in any parliamentary constituency in the nation. Therefore, in order to succeed in elections, a candidate or party must gain the support of more than one caste or group. No party is able to garner the support of every member of a caste or group. Typically, when someone refers to a caste as a party's vote bank, they indicate that a sizable number of the cast's voters support the party. If a caste is perceived to be dominant, numerous political parties may nominate members of that caste. No political party receives support from every voter in a caste or community. Typically, when someone refers to a caste as a party's vote bank, they indicate that a sizable number of the cast's voters support the party. If a caste is thought to predominate the electorate in a specific constituency, many political parties may present candidates from that caste. While many voters do not have any caste-related candidates, some voters have more than one candidate. iv In our nation, elections are frequently lost by the ruling party of the sitting M.P. or M.L.A. If every caste or community had been set in its political beliefs, then it would not have been possible.
