Elections In China :-China is not a democratic country in the true spirit. Although, elections are regularly held in every five years in China for electing the country's parliament, called National People's Congress. It has nearly 3000 members elected from all over China. Some members are elected by the Chinese Army. The National People's Congress has the power to appoint the president of the country. In China, before contesting elections, a candidate needs to take approval from the Chinese Communist Party. Only those who are the members of the Chinese Communist Party or eight smaller parties allied to it are allowed to contest the elections in China. It means that the government is always formed by the Chinese Communist Party. There is one party rule in China, which is not the indication of a true democracy. Due to these facts, we cannot say that elections in China are free and fair. Elections are always restricted by the Communist Party. So, it can be said that elections in China do not represent people's verdict
