elections in China take place after every 5 years. the election take place to decide the parliament of the country. the national people's congress in China ( China's national assembly ). but in reality people do vote but it is NPC which decides who will form the government. it has the power of choosing the next president of china

when a party or candidate wants to take part in election it has to take permissinon from the chinese communist party or the eight member groupps allied to it . whoever is under these communist party or other eight member groups are to be elected so the people have no chance of choosing their representatives or rulers!
