electric current is flowing in a conductor.can we say that the conductors are charged?​

In conductors we can see which are basically positively charged protons that are held in a fixed position and the charges which are negatively electrons that move from one place to another place too by carrying the charge. Thus we can say that the electrons that conduct electric current in conductors.

When a current is passed through a conductor it will set potential difference across the 2 ends of the conductor. It doesn't get charged but electrons in it get charged and move with high speed.
