electric current is a vector quantity because it has both magnitude and direction but in addition vector obey the law of parallelogram of vector which the electric current does not obey for this reason current is scalar quantity and not a vector

Electric current is a scalar quantity.
Although electric current has both directions and magnitude, then also it is a scalar quantity because the laws of algebra are used to add electric currents. The laws of vector addition are not applicable here.
