We have to find the electric field at point P(2, 1, 2) due to a point charge 5μC placed at origin.

solution : using formula of electric field in vector form, E = kq/ r^

here r = 2i + j + 2k

so, r^ = r/|r| = (2i + j + 2k)/√(4 + 1 + 4) = 2/3 i + 1/3 j + 2/3 k)

r² = [√(2² + 1² + 2²)]² = 9

q = 5μC = 5 × 10¯⁶ C

so, E = (9 × 10^9 × 5 × 10¯⁶)/9 (2/3 i + 1/3 j + 2/3)

= (10/3 i + 5/3 j + 10/3 k) × 10³ N/C

Therefore the electric field intensity at point P is (10/3 i + 5/3 j + 10/3 k) × 10³ N/C.
