It is easy to show that an area of surface density causes only one electric field (outside the sphere) in the form of a point charge at the center (use Gauss law and symmetry).
Similarly Gauss law predicts that continuous surface density area does not cause any area within it.
So if you calculate E (r), then you can imagine all the charges inside the ball, which are located in the center.
