Electric power (P) is defined as the rate of doing work. It is defined as the rate for per unit of time at which the electrical energy gets transferred by an electric circuit. It's SI unit is the watt, which is one joule per second.

The formula to calculate Electrical Power is -

P = VQ/t = VI

P = work done per unit of time

Q = Electric charge measured in Coulombs.

I = Electric current measured in Amperes.

t = Time in seconds

V = Voltage or Electric potential, measured in volts.

ELECTRIC POWER => This is the rate per unit time at which electrical ene6is transferred by an electric circuit.

The Si unit for electric power is watts which is equivalent to one joule per second.

The formulae for electric power can be generated from three elements :

1) Current in AMPERES (I)

2) Voltage in VOLTS (V)

3) Resistance in OHMS. (R)

CURRENT AND VOLTAGE :

P which represents power equals to:

P = IV

RESISTANCE AND CURRENT

Since V=IR

P=I²R

RESISTANCE AND VOLTAGE

Since I =V/R

P=V²/R
