Answer:
Electricity generated by the water stored in a dam can be considered to be another form of solar energy.
The potential energy of water stored in a dam is converted into kinetic energy when water is allowed to fall. Kinetic energy of moving water is converted into mechanical energy when it rotates turbines which in turn operates the generator to produce electricity.

Electricity generated with water stored in dam can be considered as another form of solar energy because:-
- The water from lakes/ponds evaporates due to heat of sun.
- Then the water falls into another waterbodies or most aptly into rivers or seas.
- Also the ice of the cool areas melts and join the flowing water bodies
- The water flows from one place to another.
- In river the water comes from the rain as well as from the melted ice.
- Due to attraction of sun, tides rises from the sea or ocean
- The flowing water of rivers are stored in a dam and is used to produce electricity.
- When tide rises, the water is stored inside dam, which is also used for making electricity.
Thus we can say, Solar energy which helped the water to gain momentum is the another form of angry of the water stored in dams.
