Electronic configuration of Nitrogen is 1s2 2s2 2p3 which contain half filled p-orbital which is more stable So it doesn't take/accept electrons so it's electronic effinity is less and for carbon EC is 1s2 2s2 2p2 it require one electron for half filled configuration so the E.A is more for carbon
