The total number of electrons in an atom is always the same as the number of protons in the nucleus. This means atoms have no overall electrical charge. this is so because positive and negative charges neutralise each other. protons attribute positive charge..
I hope this may help u plz mark it as a brainliest ansr PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

An atom is always neutral.
- An atom is made with proton, neutron and electron. Among these, the proton is a positively charged species and the electron is a negatively charged species.
- The neutron is a neutral species.
- The charge of the proton is exactly opposite to the charge of electrons.
- These two opposite factors balance each other and make the atom neutral. That's why an atom has no charge.
