Electron gain enthalpy of noble gases are zero. why?


TPS: It is not zero. It is a very large quantity.

Noble gases show no tendency to accept electron as they possess inert gas configuration(8 electrons in outer most shell).So it cannot accept any more electrons.So its electron gain enthalpy is zero.

NOBLE GASES ARE CHEMICALLY STABLE AND DONOT GAIN OR LOOSES ELECTRONS  HENCE ELECTRON GAIN ENTHALPY IS ZERO
