Oxygen has less electron gain enthalpy than Sulphur.Why? The negative electron gain enthalpy is more in sulphur than in oxygen because, both of them are in 16th group in which teh oxygen is 1st element which has the minimum size and sulphur has larger size due to addition of a new shell.
