Electron revolves around nucleus in orbits because of coulomb force

The force acting on the electron is due to the positive nucleus and is known as 'Coulomb's force of attraction'. This force occurs between charged particles and in this case would be attractive in nature (charges are unlike). The coulomb's force provides the necessary centripetal force to the electron which makes it revolve around the nucleus.

Hope this will help you.. ✌

Explanation:

this is due to the spontaneous breaksown in the case of iodides and bromides, which have a lower bond dissociation enthaphy as compared to flourides and chlorides
