Electronic Configuration of Calcium is K L M N 2, 8, 8, 2But we know that M shell can accomodate 18 electrons....So why can't we write 10 in M shell ?

There is one more rule that in the last shell there can't exist more than 8 electrons. so, that is why it is so.
