electronic configuration of proper is 3d^10 and 4s^1 not 3d^9 and 4s^2 .why ?

The ele. conf. of Cu is 4s^1,3d^10 not 3d^9& 4s^2 because if we see orbital structure of d-subshell if it has 9 electrons its orbital is nor fully filled neither half field which make it to take electron from s-subshell then s-subshell lose 1 of its electron & d-subshell &s-subshell both will be half filled which make them stable.
