2)The question is not proper..if y has already acquired electrons,then it would move towards the anode..if it acquired electrons during electrolysis,then it would move towards cathode..(positive ion moves towards the cathode which is a negatively charged electrode, and vice versa)

So , if electrons are added to y , y will get reduced .
So , y will acquire a negative charge on it .
There fore , during electrolysis , y will migrate to a positive charge or to the anode .
