Electroplating is a method of preventing corrosion of metals and improve appearance.
This is achieved through coating of metal surface with another metal coating with another metal and this may essentially be done also to improve the appearance of the metal.
For in stance the spoon may be coated with silver metal to make it have shiny appearance.
