a) Isotopes are the atoms having same mass number but different atomic number

b) no. of electrons present in an element represents the atomic number of that element

c) element Z is carbon as it's atomic number is 6 and as it's mass number is 12 that is it has 6 proton and 6 neutron hence element Z has 6 neutron

d) yes it's possible Element X is chlorine and element Y is Sodium (Na) The compound they form is NaCl
