Hello!

Most important of all is SODIUM (Na) after that comes other elements like Potassium, chloride. These elements affect water balance directly but other elements can affect by regulating other bodily processes.

Thanks!

There are multiple factors that control water balance in body. Few of them play this role directly while others do indirectly.

For example: sodium plays a major role in water retention inside the body. It holds the water content inside the blood.

Moreover, albumin also plays a role in water retention. It attracts sodium ions around its structure which attracts water.

Kidney plays a role as well in water retention. It balance the water content in body.
