F is more electronegative because electronegativity increases across a period

naagar1: here what is N ,F
Rahul2111: metal name

a) tendency of gaining electrons as we move from left to right increases.
b) F (fluorine) will be more electronegative as it's atomic no. is 9 so the configuration would be 2,7 so it is easy to gain 1 electron as compared to nitrogen coz its atomic no. is 7 n configuration is 2,5 n it needs to gain 3 more electrons to become stable. so from this, fluorine will gain 1 electron more easily

Rahul2111: am sorry it is wrong answer
swastidas: can u just explain how?
swastidas: tendency to gain electrons increases as the nuclear charge increases and atomic radius decreases on moving from left to right in a period
Rahul2111: i think b is right answer but a not right answer
